## What to write about

**Corrections.** If something here is wrong, tell us. Include the URL and what is wrong, and a source if you have one. We fix errors and date the correction.

**Accessibility problems.** Describe what happened and what you were using — browser, screen reader, device. See our [accessibility statement](/accessibility/).

**Source suggestions.** We especially want extension service and state agency sources we have missed, and per-state tenant law and pesticide regulation sources.

**Press and data.** The [species dataset](/data/species.json) is CC BY 4.0.

## What we cannot help with

**We do not perform pest control and cannot send anyone.** We do not dispatch technicians or refer you to contractors.

**We cannot identify your pest by email.** Your [county extension service](https://npic.orst.edu/pest/countyext.htm) will frequently identify a specimen at no cost, and will do it better than we could from a photograph.

**We cannot answer exposure or medical questions.** For a suspected poisoning, contact **Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222**. For a non-urgent pesticide question, the **National Pesticide Information Center** will speak with you directly. For a medical reaction, contact a medical professional.

**We cannot give legal advice.** For tenant questions, your state housing authority, local code enforcement, or a local tenant advice service is the right route.
