Affiliate disclosure
At present this site carries no affiliate links and no advertising, and earns nothing.
We are publishing this policy in advance so it is on record before any money is involved.
If affiliate links are introduced
They will appear only on genuinely appropriate products — monitors and traps, exclusion materials, mattress encasements, moisture meters, and inspection tools.
They will never point to a pesticide product of any kind, and never to a restricted-use pesticide, rodenticide, or fumigant.
They will be prohibited entirely on the regulations, health, tenant rights, and prevention branches, and on any page whose verdict is “professional required” — regardless of any configuration setting. This is enforced in the build, not by policy alone.
Every affiliate link will carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and a visible disclosure above the fold, per the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
What will not change
A recommendation will never be influenced by whether a product carries a commission. In particular, the prevention branch — where the honest answer is frequently “seal the gap yourself, you do not need to buy anything” — will remain free of commercial links entirely. That answer is the reason this site exists, and monetising it would destroy the thing that makes it worth reading.
