Integrated pest management

A decision-making framework that identifies the pest, monitors the population, removes what supports it, and treats only when monitoring shows treatment is warranted.

IPM is the governing framework for everything else on this site. Its practical consequence is that identification and habitat correction come before any product decision, which is also why a large share of pest problems resolve without one.
